The National Economic Development and Labour Council of South Africa was formed to reduce industrial relations conflict, and both address unfair discrimination and redress past discrimination in the workplace. The conference room at the Rosebank offices hosts high-level meetings between the national treasury, government ministers, trade unions as well as business and community leaders.
Clayton Communications was commissioned to deliver, install, programme and train NEDLAC personnel on a conference systems with voice lifting and recording. The system itself needed to be designed and installed in a way that when the meeting room is subdivided into two, the system can work as two independent systems to cover the meetings happening in both sections of the subdivision.
The conference system was delivered on time, within budget and fully met the customer’s requirements. The three systems consist of:
- 36x installed delegate discussion units
- 2x installed chairman discussion units
- 2x conference controllers with recording
- 4x premium loudspeakers to enhance the audio in the meeting room
Our project manager and installation team worked with the customer to ensure they were fully trained in the equipment and meeting recording. Full operation and maintenance manuals were provided as part of the training and our onsite support team provided supervision during the first meetings held with the new system to ensure all staff were competent and applying the training provided.
The conference systems have provided the client with full functionality for their meeting requirements. The onsite support provided by Clayton Communications ensured that the system was used to its full potential and gave the customer the functionality and performance required.
